DPI plays an active leadership role in the private equity industry and contributes to developing the diverse manager ecosystem
- DPI’s ADP III was appointed as the first 2X Flagship Fund, as part of the 2X Challenge, a multilateral initiative launched by the DFIs of the G7 countries to mobilise USD 3bn for projects that enhance women’s economic participation, directly and indirectly resulting in positive impacts on the sustainability of companies. DPI’s participation in the 2X Challenge created a path for other funds to follow.
- Runa Alam has contributed to the development of private equity in Africa as a former Chair of AVCA (the African Private Equity Association), Chair of the AVCA Sustainability Committee, and a Vice Chair and Africa Council Member of EMPEA (the Emerging Markets Private Equity Association). Ms. Alam is also on the board of CARE, and on a Future Challenge Committee of the World Economic Forum on “Investing with the UN SDGs.
- Other team members also involved in a number of industry associations and ecosystem initiatives, both globally and in Africa, and particularly on Gender and DEI.
